    Default Festival of 86 - 07/05/2016

    What
Festival of 86 is an annual event to celebrate the new Toyota 86. This year older toyota sportscars are also welcome to join the event (celicas/supras/MR2s etc) and as a result, toymods will be having an official presence there.

The man responsible for creating the car we all love - Toyota 86 Chief Engineer, Tetsuya Tada - will be returning to The Festival of 86 to once again personally thank you for your support and, of course, to check out your cars. Unlike previous years, the event will be open to all of the following vehicles:
    Toyota 86
    Toyota AE86
    BRZ
    Supra
    Celica
    MR2

    Plus of course spectators/Passengers

The festival will be packed with a Show & Shine, prizes, giveaways and of course your pride & joy, and plenty more. Also, throughout the day you will have a chance to win a hot lap in a T86RS Race Car.

    Important Information:
Access to the main site is strictly limited to Toyota 86 / Original AE86 / BRZ /Supra / Celica / MR2 vehicles
All other vehicles will have their own designated parking area next door, within the Fairbairn Park Hill Climb club car park (a shuttle bus will ferry people between the sites).
Anti-social driving – Anti-social driving on the way to, at the Festival venue, or after the event, isn’t something we’d like to be associated with. Let’s show the general public that not all car enthusiasts are hoons and that we can have an incident free event.

No Smoking – The entire Sutton Road facility is a non-smoking area. There are fuel supply areas and other flammable liquids/materials on site, so no smoking please.

No Alcohol – As we all know, cars, driving and alcohol do not mix. Please be aware the Festival of 86 is a ‘dry’ event.

Kids Zone – The Festival of 86 is a family-friendly event, and we're setting up a Kids Zone with face painting, glitter tattoos and balloon sculpting. Please note however, the Kids Zone is not a ‘kiss and drop’ crèche. At least one parent or guardian must stay with children when visiting.

Track Time attire – Any club member or attendee lucky enough to find themselves in the passenger seat for a hot lap, or on the skid pan for a drift ride must be wearing long sleeves, long pants and closed shoes.

Photography – Of course photography is a big part of the festival, but please be aware there will be “No-go zones” around the venue to ensure everyone’s safety. Nobody will be allowed to access or shoot anywhere on the road course. Control barriers along the pit area and lower part of the track define the no-go zone for anyone other than event-sanctioned staff.

Security –Please respect any of their instructions and help everyone in having a great day.

Trailer parking – There will be trailer parking for those who need to tow their ride to the festival. Parking marshals will provide instructions as you arrive.

Timing – Please don’t try to enter the site prior to 10.00am. Security will be in place to ensure that nobody enters the venue prior to that time. If you arrive early, the carpark next door will be open from 8AM.

Weather – The Festival will proceed rain, hail or shine (fingers crossed we never see Hail).

Toyota sports classics – Got any friends with cool Celica’s, Supra’s or MR2’s? Feel free to let them know they’re welcome to display their rides at this year’s festival. As per AE86’s they will have a dedicated area. The more Toyota sports cars in one place the merrier! …And yes, BRZ’s will be welcome as per previous years.

Thanks to Toyota Australia, Neal Bates and all who made the day a huge success. Drifting an 86 on the wet skid pan, fanging through the short course track, free drink, and a free feed. What was there to not like about the day. Fantastic!

    cheers Chuck.
