If you have wiseco pistons then you really should do aftermarket rods while you're at it, or later you'll wish you had done so.
However, I can tell you that my friend has the stock rods and pistons and he's making about 240rwkw with no issues.

Gen 2/3 rods I've always heard are good for 500hp but need arp bolts to be sure.
Personally if you have the motor apart $300-1100 for rods is insignificant.

honestly if your whinging about the cost of ARP bolts I will hate to see what you think when you get your engine builder bill ($2k+)
if you know the right people you can get them to make you custom H11 head studs (same as ARP L19 I believe). but I suspect it will cost more than a set of ARP's.
for 500hp on the safe side I would go pauter rods, cariello rods.
brian crower, and manley rods may survive. eagle would be questionable with the stock bolts.
at that power its likely you will need larger washers in the head to stop the washers being pulled into the head and then the head lifting (I havnt seen this my self but big HP yanks say it happens).
a gen 1 head will struggle with that power, well with any degree of efficiency anyway.
    youll have hude cooling issues.
block might crack so best to use a gen 4 block or late 5sfe...

pretty much 500hp = little not no change from $10-15k assuming ull need to buy: ecu, Turbo, Clutch, new exhaust, intercooler.
