ST215 Caldina 3SGTE - 3SGE BEAMS Swap

After some help...

Does anyone know if it will be a direct swap in/out for the 3SGTE and the 3SGE 'Grey Top' BEAMS in the ST215 caldina? Also, does the AWD manual gearbox bolt straight onto the ST215 BEAMS engine? I'm assuming that it would all fit with no mods as the ST215 came out with both engines.

Im about 99.9% sure it would bolt up to the gearbox and engine mount no probs. The exhaust, wiring harness, locations of a/c compressor and alternator are where some differences COULD be without
knowing for sure. Also the intake manifolds are obviously different.

Im sure some visual representation of each engine can be found somewhere on the web.

So is your beams caldina awd or fwd? Not familiar with the caldina, but if its like celicas they grew up from you cant easily fit the awd box in the fwd chassis.

The beams block may be missing some threaded holes for the awd tranny support brackets.

I have two of these on the floor of my workshop as my test engines so if you need some pics taken of different parts of the block then I would be happy to do so.

From memory if it's the st215G(AWD) beams then it'll be a direct swap, that block already has the clearnaces for the awd box. Even wiring should be quite simple as there were only a few pinouts different for the turbo setup. Any reason you're doing this? Having had both engines, the 3sge would suck with an auto awd box.

Wanted to do something different. Stroking and fitting a turbo to the 3SGE. Should be a good thing when I'm done
