Just find the spd wire on the ecu
Its a violet wire with white trace
I Recently got myself a Rostra Cruise Control unit for my JDM Corolla FX. Car is early series AE92 and AFAIK has no VSS.
Kit includes Magnets that I'm meant to JB.Weld onto driveshaft which I don't like the sound of.
Looking at ToyoDIY I noticed that JDM Automatic cars (with ECT gearbox) had a Speed Sensor / Speed Rotor which Rostra said they could interface with to get a speed signal (i.e. w/o magnets).
I could be asking a stupid question here but. . . . Can the Speed Sensor & Rotor from the Automatic be mounted to manual gearbox to function as a speed pulse generator?
Toyota P/N:
Speed Sensor: 89411-17020
Sensor Rotor: 89414-12010

OK; so I guess I bought this < attached > for nothing. .
So how does that (speed wire) work; i.e. what does it take the speed signal from?
I think u did buy it for nothing
The cable speedo spins the shaft inside the speedo
There is a reed switch inside the speedo that sends a signal down to the ecu
This wire is normally for cruise control
All good; I appreciate the info. That's what these Forums are all about, to live & learn. At any rate it was only $50 so it could have been worse. . .
I don't suppose you know much about Relays? No-one's even looked at my other post* let alone commented on it. . .
