Actually the 16MM spanner fits the bolts that hold the backing plate onto the axle

Stephos database is great but it never had the corona 18RG strand..

My 104 was plated NOT but had one in it
    RT104GT

The reason is that for most JDM Toyota GT models an LSD was a factory fitted option. Even the TA63/64 Twin Cam Turbo's came with a non LSD (F292) as standard.

Your car could have had an LSD fitted at the dealers, or at any other stage between leaving the dealers yard and your ownership.

    Other possibilities:

On the day the diff was assembled and placed in the car at the factory the non LSD parts bin was empty. Cost of stopping the production line while waiting for more diffs to appear was prohibitive so a quick fix was to instal the LSD.

A genuine mistake was made on the prodution line; new assembler, oversight etc.

    Be thankful you have one.

Having been a Toyota owner for 35 years I am thankful how Toyota had the foresite to provide a parts inventory for all its range well into the next century and I have a plethora of spares to choose from.
Ah well at least we got the VIN Number to quote them! ..

sorry for the noob questions but i am really interested,
    thanks

I started the thread as I had a few ID tags, and I knew that it comes in handy when wanting to know diff ratios, and engine transmission combinations.

I have a whole lot more, which when i get off my bum, i'll take photos of and put those up too.

You guys are going off topic somewhat, so if you could start a new thread that would be great

The spanner in my avatar is actually a 16mm, that's why it's still new
