    The photo I posted was really a bit tongue-in-cheek, but if it were ammended to read "Torque at the wheels" then it'd be right.

    And power is a simple way of measuring an engine's ability to produce torque at the wheels (if suitable gearing is selected).

    I did see that, but gave him the next best alternative instead of just saying no, at the time must have missed o_man_ra23 's post, i didnt realise it was previously mentioned

    I was about to have a major sook and tell everyone to have a read around and put the "torque vs power" discussion to bed. However I found suprisingly little on Google, here or the old toymods (maybe PF, though it's late and I CBFed).

    And while I encourage everyone not to believe everything they read on the internet, here are the few good pages I dug up:

    Discussion of effects of torque and power (mainly V8 related, though applicable to anything).
    And a slimmed down version, but with references.

    And another site with a discussion of torque, power and gearing
