    Default how to determine which 20v head?

    hey guys,

    just looking for how i go about confirming that i have in fact got a blacktop head?

    any wonderful clues from those in the know?

    the blacktop head has almost no squish area, the only area with a squish area is along the exhaust valves. the silvertop has squish small areas along the exhaust as the blacktop does, but it also has small areas between the intake valves as well

    also on the exhaust side i think it is, there are a lot more casting ribs on the silvertop head compared to the blacktop. ie. ribs closer together and more of them.

    Fantapants - can you throw up a quick photo of the combustion chambers and exhaust side of the head? we should be able to give you clear indication then as to what head it is exactly (silvertop or blacktop).

    head is off at the moment trying to be ressurected :s

    if its repairable, then ill get it back and get pics... if its not, ill just cut my losses and practice my porting :S
