Yep, add me to the list of people having a T series LSD in a TA22. I have a TRD T series in my TA22 and have had no issues..

In summary, the correct information is:
    • Factory Toyota LSD centres need to have axles shortened 6mm
    • TRD, Kaaz, Tomei, etc aftermarket units DO NOT need axles shortened
    • For celicas, you need a "Zenki" AE86 LSD centre
    • The correct oil to use with TRD, Kaaz, etc is Castrol Syntrax 75W140 Limited Slip...... but this is very hard to source in Australia
    • Alternative oil is Castrol Syntrax 80W140 Limited Slip oil.... so far seems to work very well

Thanks for this! So much fake news out there. Good to have the facts

    With aftermarket i have use TRD & Kaaz with 300+hp / 450nm.
No problem when use street tires and clutch bomb. Weak places are halfshafts.

Stock LSD unit "crosspin" is weak and sometimes snaps even with stock 4age / 2TG. With 200hp it start to be in limit.

The Unicorn has 90kw at the rear tyres. Semi Slicks on the back 24/7
Has had no issues with Launches for Motorkhana (Tar) or the odd 1/8th mile drags

I don't side step the clutch peddle from redline but happily offload 4-5000 rpm into it.

It took the Clutch kicks during the Khana and some high RPM launches in the drags even with my Semi Slick tyres.
    Old topic and late reply

I have found now that most of BMW M-approved oils work really well in these tighter LSD units.. Castrol syntrax got that also, and many of wide range fully synthetic LSD oils got that BMW M approval.. and they have enough lsd additive! Cannot say all, but all i know is all approved have been working well!
