At 250rwkw you'll be breaking the T series on a regular basis lol

EFRs are good if that's what your budget will stretch too. Precisions also deliver great results. The budget kinugawa are also a genuine option so don't dismiss a sub $1K turbo I don't think you'll get 250rwkw with one of those but 200rwkw with crazy response should be achievable.

Mine had ballpark 200rwkw on 22psi and was a serious handful so 250rwkw will be a total animal

I can be mechanically sympathetic and give the T series not too hard a life. Haven't broken one yet.....

Seems EFRs are about $3K, I want to do this once so maybe at a stretch, will check out the Precision. 200 sounds just fine actually I want to keep the balance.
Yes the old Celica's are great cars thanks..

There's mechanical sympathy and then there's physics the torque load is just too high, it'll break if you use it

Kinda, I broke mine a number of times never an axle which was interesting. The large axle AE86 disc brake LSD rear end I put in lasted the longest and with smaller tyres being traction limited probably helped

I'm reasonably happy to try it out and upgrade as need be. She's been Granpa's axe for that last 32 years....damn I've had my RA23 for 32 years and the only car I've ever owned!!!! Got 4 bikes though :-)

Well I'm gonna finally get off my duff and build an 8R-GTE.

I will start with a virgin engine block (NOS) from an 8R-C series and still thinking about the difference of the 86mm bore and having the stock 3T-G pistons custom made with the correct valve reliefs machines to clearance the valves. Rods will have to be sorted out (Custom made).

The Block was still in the original shipping crate and was only $50.00 US.

I can stick with the stock 18R-Series crank so that I do not have to machine the journals for the 22R crank.

I already have the SK series turbo exhaust manifold for the 18RG and a few parts collected over the years.

This is still in the brain storming phase, so nothing is set in stone.

    Suggestions welcome?

Sizing the turbo will take a bit of effort, trying to find one with Ball bearings, oil and water cooled, and for that search, the price goes up thru the roof.

88.5mm Pistons thru 92.0mm allows alot of options for this one engine series which creates a lot of questions when sizing a turbo for this engine. Shooting for 275 Horse Power. Any suggestions?

Well today the H-Rods for a 20R arrived, Gasket kits the day prior.
