yep...... also there is a company who is making "offset" cams - Tri-flow is the trademarked name. One lobe of a pair of the cam is slightly shorter duration (261/268 - I think). The problem with these cams is no one gave thought to which valve would better benefit from it... so the offset lobes do NOT match the offset ports

couple of great links there guys, thanks

the bloke who does my head machining wants to port one for me too, he wants to take the 7m head & weld up the bottom of the intake ports & reshape them to be closer to vertical. he wants over 2grand for the porting, i knew it would be better than just cleaning/openning up the ports that i had planned to do but did not realise there was anytthing in the order of 20% more flow to be gained.
maybe it will be money well spent down the track.

will read the article on different valve sizing when i have a spare hour or 2

Without wanting to drag this thread any further off topic than I have ,
I have seen a couple of steep angled inlet ports who's engines have gone on to produce very respectable power in both standard and modified forms. The Nissan FJ20 (16 valve) is 1 example and the Alfa Romeo Twin Spark(plug, 8 valve) used in the Alfa 75's (not the earlier factory race engine twin spark plug engines) is another.

    Hi MS-75
I realize this is an old thread, but for some reason I can't see the pictures. Could you repost or pm me the flow data for 1FZ vs 2JZ heads?
    Thanks
