yes smc and sm2 normally just run bosch ignitors or cdr500 or msd
and ive recenly found out they dont fit dwell boards to older models any more but i could be wrong

yes the ls2 truck coils have a heat sink on the bottom of them
    easy to find on ebay

I wouldn't assume that truck coils are better because they have a heatsink on them. Massive heatsinks are normally a sign of shitty transistors more than overengineering, particularly on base model crap like GM trucks.

well anyway they work better than shitty toyota 1j and 2j coils
i try to find original ls1 coils as the aftermarket ones have a bigger failure rate from new

The last set of LS coils I got for a 1UZ are Denso brand.

Bringing up an old thread as I am looking at changing to a cop setup also. Im going to be running a haltech, gt35r 1.06ar turbo and a few other mods.

Are these 2az units still the way to go or has there been some more breakthroughs?

    Cheers blake

if you read through a few more pages, it looks like 3uzfe coils are the way to go. I have a friend using 1gfe coils on his non vvti 1uz. It seems I'm reviving this thread aswell

    Holy reviving thread batman....
So, 2uz with some trimming and bracket work, 2az with some trimming and bracket work, or 3uz and just shove the cover back on over the top?
Has anyone else come across something else for COP? I'd rather steer clear of GM/LS external coils and ignitors for some streamline/cleanliness.

    Thread necromancy

Anyone tried the Audi coils? Or the Denso aftermarket equivalent 673-9302?
