    Default What turbo for a1jz-vvti

A mate of mine has asked me to help him select a turbo for his engine but i have little knowledge of what would suit best.

He already has a single turbo manifold and Adaptronic ECU,looking for around 250~270 rwkw.

Can someone give me some advice on selecting a turbo for him,He also would only like to have a Garrett turbo.

    Cheers Case

    GT3076 would be my suggestion.

    Check out jampac and 1jz-rolla (I think 1jz-roll has a 3076...)

I got a GT3076, but my car doesn't run so I couldn't tell you how it goes LOL. From what I've seen though it's a really good size!

    auto or manual?
    what supporting mods also?

    adaptronic will work very well.
but will need a coil-pack conversion to work.

second gt3076, if you want uber responce get a .64 housing, i would reccommend however getting a .82 one, there is one for sale on here, and for a good price.

There are much better choices than a plain old T04.

As others have said the 3076 is your best bet. I think it is the same one as whatthe? had on his 1JZ VVTi IS200. That made just over 300RWKW. If you do a search for it you will find a members ride thread.

I'm a big fan of the GT3582r in the 0.86 rear housing on the 1J after tuning my mates one, nice and responsive and makes decent power.

I'd suggest maybe a HKS 3037 or a 2835 if you are going for that power and want some really good response.

    My 2835 made 265kw on 13psi, and Aussie's old jzx81 make about 300kw+ with the 3037.

A lot of the Jap Chasers are running them and making comfortable 400ps etc.

    Yeah, I was well impressed.

1JZ-Rolla was there too if anyone wants to get a second opinion on those results.

    Haha I trust you.

Yeah my ultimate choice would be a HKS3037S Pro. If I was rich that is haha.

for 250-270rwkw, you "could" do that on a GT28 sized turbo but as others have said GT3076r is the go with a .8 rear housing as you will no doubt want more power in the future. If you get the above and max out that turbo it is a straight swap to a gt35 anyway

whats the most you can get out of a gt3076.

am trying to decide also between hiflow gcg style the standard turbo or gt3076.

i know the turbo from gcg should get me to around 270rwkw if the gt30 will only get to 300rwkw am not sure if its worth the extra $$$$
