    Default St141 modification thread

    So after searching an dnot being able to find much solid infomation i t hought i would start a thread as a guide for modding corona's as i think they're are starting to get popular...

    So if u know something post it up...

    my question is will st141 p/s tierods fit a 141 with non p/s.. (maybe giving extra lock)

    ill also start by linking the hilux/peugot brake upgrade...

    gday mate

    theres no diference in tierod lengh between the p/s and non p/s modles...
    i rekon your best bet would chuck silvia brakes on it give you more lock to and
    option for coilovers to
    correct me if im wrong

    cool i got new ties rods for $3 each repco have them on clearance btw ppl also got centre bearing for $10

    yep s13 is defantly do-able...
    and less work than hilux brake conversion

    Prob even harder than finding MA61 rims in TAS in good condition!

    btw.... MA61 rims would look great on a rona

    Don't know about the tie rods but you asked for anything about ST141 Corona's?

    My ST141 had the 2.0L 2SC (with carby) engine in it.
    If fitting extractors and sports exhaust system for these engines,
    you must remove the air pump belt otherwise sometimes it will cause a VERY LOUD
    backfire every time you back off the accelerator (while changing gears or engine braking).
    The air pump was there for emissions standards, it did not affect my engine at all when it was removed and got rid of the annoying backfires.

    a 2s will run fine will no emission system at all... only need the vac line from the carbi to the dizzy and your larfen

    hmm i deff need to remove my air pump..
    im wanting to do something with the suspesion but keep it dailyable..
    would like to do 5 stud conversion and lsd.. with out a weldy..
    it also hideous on fuel and would like to change that

    chop springs or wana spend a bit and keep it legal can buy lowed king springs for it... you wont find lsd anywhere to fit the stock diff.... mine was good on fuel and that was 4speed...

    how bout slotting in a 22re? prob pick up a crossmember from a RT142 and bolt it in. extra torque from 2.4 woul help with fuel economy

    yeah a local guy has offered a1gge so im thinking of doing that..
    i reckon ill use s13 standard struts and springs etc

    This is a deceptively hard conversion.

    You pretty much need a complete RT142 to transplant EVERYTHING from.

    Crossmember / Brake master / Brake lines (from the firewall forward) / Fuel lines / fuel tank / loom / ECM etc....

    Plus all the big things like the motor / gearbox / tailshaft etc.
    The 18R-G. The GOOD 2 Litre Tractor motor.
