    Did you guys get the diesel versions over there at all? They ran an S-series gearbox as well. Then again ST162 cables shouldn't be too hard to find either

    I forgot about doing that!

    I modified the ends of the Corolla cables so that they would fit the cast aluminum brackets on the S5X trans I used.
    IIRC, the brackets on the S5X transaxle were thicker. I used an air powered rotary cut off tool to remove some of the shoulder so that the Corolla cables could be directly attached to the S5X trans.

    No diesels in Canada (thankfully?)

    We got big beefy front brakes though!
