    Default HKS 4agze

I knew that there was a supercharger kit by HKS for the 1g-ge but never for the 4age.

This would have to be rarer than the 1gge kit!!

I've seen one of these before, not in the flesh but I've seen pictures of it installed. I remain unimpressed as to what kinds of power gains are possible over a standard 4AGZE setup.

Very bizzare. You'd have to run water or methanol injection to get the intake temps back down. Although, if it's a very efficient compressor, maybe a screw type, it might not generate much heat. Does anyone know of a car with this installed? I do fail to see the advantage over an SC14, unless it's a really nice compressor. And how long would the (aluminium) head hold up to all that weight? Start pulling bolts out...

well there is a fair amount of bracing to support the weight of the supercharger.

I actually had a look at another HKS supercharger today that was made for the 1g-ge engine and there is a bit of difference between it and the sc14. Supposedly the HKS supercharger for the 1g can make up to 1.8 bar which is fairly impressive for a roots design. The lobe design was also rather different (ie not the conventional figure 8 lobes) I will need to have a closer look to see what exactly goes on...

Digging up an old thread, but these were marketed as an upgrade to the N/A AW11, before the SC model was introduced. To be fair, they probably prompted Toyota to come out with a factory supercharged car.
