    Default hilux/ pug conversion q's

    hi ppl,

went to buy the calipers.. they were 4 spot of a hilux surf.. they are chargin 350.. is this a good price.. i have searched the thread ad cant get a straight forward answer

    also

is there another disc option for this conversion?

i would have liked to get out of the shaving down hassle with the pug discs

also is there another hub to use as i am keen on keeping the car 5 stud as the volvo diff is 5 stud and id like to leave it as is

also lastly.. does anyone know where i can find the struts.. its been a real pain in the ass. and unfortunatley some wreckers dont know there cars let alone the differances between shit and glitter

    cheers for the help fellas!

Ive bought and sold a fair few sets of calipers over the years all around the $200 mark
You can use ms65 crown front hubs on the corona strut to give you 5x114.3 stud pattern
and pickies is a good place to look for struts or even ask on the forum here

I got mine from a 4wd wrecker in QLD for $180 delivered if I remember correctly then rebuilt them myself. I just searched the white/yellow pages for them and told them I wanted some ln106 calipers that would fit whatever thickness those rotors are. Can't remember now.

Struts should be super easy to find...
I see plenty of XT130/RT132's at wreckers.

    Hi,

i've got a spare set of ln130 calipers (actually one is ln130, one is rn130 - but exactly the same as ln106) One of the pistons may be seized, haven't got an air compresser to push it out with and got another set so I gave up quickly. The other one is completely pulled apart, no pitting in any of the pistons. Just re-kit and go. Make me an offer. I know where there are some struts too in brisbane.

Oh, and 350 for a pair of calipers is a joke!!! I found one at a wreckers that had been completely rebuilt (acid dipped etc) and was 125!!! only had one though.

    Hi,

That's cool, just lemme know if ya get stuck. Keep an eye out for people wrecking their own 4runners etc in trading post and ebay for calipers. Got a mint set off a fella in brisbane for $20 each!!

I too am very interested in finding out if there is a different disc we can use as the availability is lacking in australia. I assume that the ra60 is still just a solid disc. Surely toyota made something similar on some of their sportier cars in the 90's, maybe the soarers or supras??? Is there a rotor database anywhere?
