Default 1ggze RA 23-28 What Radiator?

The 1ggze conversion to Celicas has been done many times! I have just fitted a 1ggze to a RT132 Corona which has an almost identical engine bay to the RA23's &28's.
Just wondering what standard ( can't afford custom alloy) radiators people have fitted. I presently have a KB Laser radiator which was easy to fit but the temp guage runs a little higher than i would like!
I don't have anything in front of it (A/C) and have a 12" thermo and 10" thermo fans fitted.
Maybe that radiator is a bit small for the ZE? I see others are using the Laser Radiator...Do they have any problems??
Also, where is the best place to get a waterpump. Are there any other model water pump bearings and seals that will fit? Mine just started leaking after the first 10km drive! Never leaked in the shed or up and down the driveway!! No, engine didn't get too hot as it was first drive and i was checking everything continually.

    Need some help here,
    Thanks, Glen.

hyundia excell radiators seem to be a popular choice also.

i would suggest one of JARs alloy ra23 versions but it wont fit with the supercharger clutch in there.

have a look in the members rides section also

    cheers

I'd also suggest the excel radiator too.

Good idea from TRR above to check out the members' rides....

Here is one good radiator example.

Thanks, i'll check out the Excel radiators at the wreckers tomorrow. Biggest problem at the moment will be finding a water pump.
    Cheers,
    Glen

get one from JAR, quality is second to none

i went for the hyundai x2 auto (before JAR came on the scene) as it slightly thicker and you can get away with it if you flog off the p/s pulley, if you do a search i have already placed up the part number somewhere

though if i had my time again i'd go for the JAR as they fit a lot better, no cutting involved and look fkn schmick!

    Glen,
I would look deeper into the problem before changing radiators mate. I have a KA/KB Laser radiator in the front of my 1G-GZE RA23, with an air con condensor in front of that with a 10inch fan pulling air onto it and just one single 12 inch thermo fan behind the radiator. I live in Perth and run the air con every day in summer and have never gone above one third on the temp gauge.

An alloy radiator is overkill and won't solve an overheating problem anyway. I used a Torana 3 core with the top tank repositioned about 10mm lower to clear the bonnet. Cheap and effective.

    Thanks for all the info,
I've ordered a new water pump from Castle Hill to solve that leaking problem, and also found the thermostat stuck partially open.( about 4 to 5 mm) It wasn't open far enough to close the bypass passages or give full flow to the radiator!
Boiled on stove and it didn't open any further, so that might be my problem.
I'll get the new Pump and a Thermostat fitted and test everything again before changing radiators.
Thanks again to all those interested enough to post information. It would not have been possible for me to be at this stage of my conversion now without the information i have gained from Toymods.
I appreciate that people have supplied answers without the ' Search, it has been covered before' attitude. I always try to find answers by searching first, but being a novice i may not enter the correct search words all the time. Anyway, what a great resource we Toyota enthusiasts have here !!
