    Default 96 Rav4 02 Sensor

    Hey everyone,

I have purchased a universal 4 wire o2 sensor from ebay and wondering if any one has any information about what the coloured wires on the original o2 sensor represent, i need to know which one is the earth and which one is the ecu signal wires as the one i purchased are different colours. If any oen ahd this info it will be a great help.

The colours on the origianl sensor are two x black, one x blue, and one x white, i need to know which is the ecu signal and earth wires.

    Thanks Rob

Just had a quick search for 96 model rav4 o2 sensor and it comes up being a 2 wire replacement, although the 98model is a 4 wire.

Have you checked yours is a 4 wire?

You can test for these wires easily using a multimeter, the heater should be 12v, sensor earth - test continunity with the chassis and the wire, signal will make a small voltage somewhere around 0.1v and when hot 0.6v, and the other is heater ground which will not matter which earth is which as there both earthing.
