    Terry,

I just found your thread. I'd suggest the 88.5mm bore personally. Only some blocks can handle an 89mm bore without hittingthe water jacket and sleeving them is quite expensive.

Sounds like a demon of a package tho

Like the look of the head and rocker cover m8,
as for the 2L 2tg talk, i brought a 2tg basically for spares, got in the shed and pulled her apart and found it was fitted with 18rg pistons, i went to use the block until i noticed one of the pistons was stuffed and couldnt track down another piston, so just went ahead with a 2tgeu block insted.

have you got a pic of you 18R-G piston used in a 2T block? very interested to see if the pin height is the same as 2T piston.

Piston has the word ART wrote on one side, the number 5 on the other side, on the inside of the piston it had a few different numbers but the main numbers that stood out was 88252.

    Terry,

How naffed is the old 2T block you pulled out? I'm looking at building up a 2TG to dump into my '22 after I finish year 12 (5 weeks and exams are over wo0t). Hopefully Jordan still has that head too...

Or would it be wiser to source another one/go with the block I already have .

    Cheers

It wasnt too bad, but it has already been sold I'm afraid.

I'd be happy to help you out with one once you're ready though.

On a side note I bought a set of forged Eagle H beam 3T rods and a set of 18RG solex carbies today.

Now all I need is the pistons and an oversized head gasket.

Ah no worries. I should have a bit more time on my hands to warrant membership in the TCC and come to some more club events after school's over . And my car's thread on here might actually become active .

Bottom end=cylinder block haha. (The bottom end of the engine - ie excludes the cylinder head)

Doesn't sound like you should be the one telling him to do it himself

Some major progress has been made on the 2TG. I'll fill in more details later, but for now I'll post some pictures.

The bottom end is back from being rebuilt and I have assembled the lower timing gear:
