so finally got around to doing this...

failed on my ga70 tacho... not sure if the tacho itself might have been fked from previous things but has been left disconnected for many years and worked prior to this...

luckily i had a spare ma70 auto dash sitting in the shed and pluged it in... worked fine... so figured ide swap that tacho into the ga70 dash as the rest of it is modified...
well first it didnt work so then had to swap the circuit board for the tacho over then it all worked...

downside though is the relay audibly clicks... will have to de click it another day...

Built one of these for my AW11 to get the tacho to work with my DIYPNP MegaSquirt. Works like a dream and the relay doesn't click

Out of interest what relay did you use?

i used the one listed but wondering if a narva relay would have more success...

I'd have to go have a look, but it was a relay from a box of 10 I bought from ebay about 10 years ago... Definetely something shipped out of china.

I only ever find my one to click on really low rpm, like cranking.
All relays come from China anyway.... Narva just add a hefty premium because they are narva

I fitted one of these to his car but still doesn't work.
I have tested the tach booster on another car and it does work.

On the original coil negative his car pulses 12 - 13v to the cluster rpm guage and it works.
With the tach booster I get about 9v going to the cluster rpm guage.
It seems that it is too low for the cluster to work.
How would I go about increasing the 9v to around 12v ?
How did you go with this? If you are still struggling I suggest you give this a try. I finally stopped being a retard and wired the diodes off the POST ignitor wires and now my tacho works on my S12

yeah i dunno but definitely audibly clicks...

seems to get un noticeable at cruising under light load but upon backing off becomes louder...

ill remove the bit that clicks and be done with it
