Thanks, that's what i thought. It turns out the 88252 pistons are 9.7 also but a piece of the skirt is broken off one.

Here is a photo of what i picked up. After reading some more of this thread it appears as though the 88253 head is better than the 88250's and the only difference between the 88270 is the recess for the injectors. If that's the case and the 88253 head is any good i would probably use that one as i would prefer the motor to look like a legit 88253 as opposed to a carbed 88270.

Another observation is one of the 88250 heads has an inline water heater fitting where all others come off at 90°. Did these motors ever come out in FWD configuration?

Looks like you have enough parts to assemble one stock engine if you had a 8R-B or 8R-C engine block so that you can use those stock pistons with a set of new rings and bearings, you only have to bore the block up to be able to use those. So it will not really matter which head you choose, it will still just be a stock engine! Forged pistons are the only way to go and it will not hurt to get some double valve springs and retainers since those valve lock have a tendency to come loose at high rpms. If you build it right, it will be a blast! But all in all, nice score indeed!

Cheers, I already have an 18R-GEU motor with some carbs that i got off pagie84. The thing is its a GEU motor so with the carbs its gonna be weaker than either a GU or GEU thats why im always on the lookout for older pistons and cams.

I didnt know what i was buying at the time so it was a total stab in the dark. I was just hoping that the pistons were higher compression and they were not just the stock items someone had pulled out of a motor after fitting the higher comp ones. I was also hoping the cams we better too. Worst case i figured i would be able to sell off the 3 heads and make my money back plus some rum money.

I have not built an engine before so im pretty keen to have a crack.

Guys, can someone have a look at the attempted wiring diagram. its for the haltech E6K into 18rgeu.
i have a dizzy with home signal. (2 wires)
    hall effect on crank (3wire)
    2 coil igniter
cold start inj, 4 x injectors
that im trying to wire up.
the top diag is me starting to wire up.
the bottom is for the experienced to attempt for me.
i'm not sure of the haltech Hall effect sensor if it needs a diode and the actual wiring, when it says to use a 5v+. or does that also mean NO diode and use 12v+???

sorry for the hassle gents, im at work now, so its rushed.
