Just to clarify, once upon a time when I did have a Corona as well (though I will never admit it in public), the rule was that the weight the RTA went off was the highest spec'ed sedan *WITHOUT* Air con - ie avanti with everything except air con, which was either 1080 or 1090kg (a friend had exactly that model), pushing you back into the 3x category. The rules may have changed or the interpretation may have changed since then.

RTA has their own weights on file.

Ive gone of the same before MOS .... AIRCON no count and its Tare weight so fuel doesnt count.

But they have their listing... who are we to argue?

I have some papers from Toyota that say a st141 weighs 1110kgs and im sure a rt142 CSi or advante would have a higher curb weight ?

The previous owner of my V6 Rt142 said it just scraped through engineering and its a 3.8 so a 4.0 V8 might be pushing it abit. Mind you this was done in QLD and in 2002.

The papers for my st141 say tare is 1115kg.
Seriously thinking about this conversion, according to page 11 of VSB14 (http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roa...jan2011_v3.pdf)
I can have an engine as big as 5575cc's so a 4.7L is well within the legal realm.
Just need to source a t56 flywheel and a 2uz and possibly a solid rear ended rt142 (easier than finding an rt142 fuel tank)
BA/R33 front brakes and hilux diff with ma70 rotors and R33 rear calipers

Anybody think its a bad idea?

    Cheers,

    Peter

    Aren't they in those lexus 470 4wd's?

edit: or landcruisers apparently, as above.

edit2: I'd love a 3uz in an mx32 with the roof chopped off, slammed on some jap wheels or hundred-spokers, rocking some fender mirrors.

They have to accrew enough for nose reconstructions as well as feeding his mime family. The dont talk much so they never need much water for their dry mouths.

I've been campaigning for the return of Full House to free-to-air television.. and not re-runs, they need to bring it back with the Olsen twins, Stamos and Saget in their full glory.

Until then I ain't doing shit.

Well the 2uz i was looking at had a rod though the block so instead of looking for a new block and some rods i may try and find another or just a 1uz.
this is all completely dependant on funds but i already have the brakes and diff and engine mounts so it needs to be done!!!!!

    Cheers,

    Peter
