Pin height is measured for the centre of the gudgeon pin to the top of the ring land.
I have been quoted a pin to crown height for some ACL pistons and I am trying to work out where these will end up sitting in the block, how is this measured exactly?
Pin height is measured for the centre of the gudgeon pin to the top of the ring land.
and the ring land is the line that sits ontop of the top most compression ring?
Would be the uppermost part of the piston on the outer edge (above the top ring). This counts for dished and Hicomp pistons where the centre protrudes into the combustion chamber in the head.
What was the height you were told out of intrest?Originally Posted by Sam_Q
