    Default dry sump

    how much hp can you normally pick up when you switch over to a dry sump system using a positive vacuum with no out side lines connected ,well i think its a positive vacuum

    for drag racing (max hp) maybe a couple of percent.. like 1-3%? (iirc)

    but it's also stuff like oil heat, reliability etc...

    Pretty hard to answer, but OldCorollas is pretty right I think. As I mentioned on the other forum you want between 1/4 to 1/2 an atmosphere vacuum, etc.

    I guess that'd depend on the motor...there's power required to drive the oil pump, vaccuum pumps and all the other gear, maybe more than a factory oil setup. On a 2000hp drag car, that's pretty irrelevant, on a 150hp 4A, that might be more than it's worth from a purely power-related perspective. I think where it really comes into its own is for temp control, surge control, etc...

    Less windage on the crank, and the oil returns from the head & off the crank much better.
