    Default Boost Controller Reviews

Being in the market for a boost controller soon, i was hoping that people could just do a quick review of the boost controller they use.

    Maybe it could be set out like;

    Make/Model
    Price
    Likes
    Dislikes

    Thanks in advance

I use the pink Turbosmart one (type II or some such sod).

Price was around the $110 (but cannot remember).

Like = controls boost adequately, affordable, simple

Dislikes = doesn't give me any chance to get a few PSI more in the lower rev band, which is nice to improve the cars midrange. I also only use one boost setting, some ppl prefer 2.
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

Cheap, Good Quality, Small and easy to fit it out of the way or hide it etc, Accurate, Easy to wire up (basically 2 wires), large display, 4 settings, piss easy to program, (two buttons)good gain control to bring boost on harder etc...

    Dislikes..
Shows Boost only, does not show vacuum (not a biggie, but would be nice)
New model just released at the same price as the old one with extra features like Multi-scramble.

    Make/Model: turbotech MBC
    Price: $25
    Likes: easy to install
Dislikes: spiked a bit, too sensitive. Could just be my setup though?

    Blitz DSBC Spec S

Holds boost nicely (graph of boost vs power below).

I'd get the Spec R version though if I had another chance, the spec S is good to about 18psi.
You can see the solenoid wobbling back and forth as it keeps the boost steady
Cost me $250 2ndhand never used, still in box etc, bargain!

The Spec S has a weaker solenoid that can't hold as much boost I've been told. Not sure of the truth in it really, but several online stores mention it in the description. Holds 18psi just fine for me, any more than that and it gets a bit lean.
