possibly had 100psi of air from the compressor in that cylinder at the time, which would make it rather difficult to get to TDC

So what was the result of Jim's Leakdown testing Aloshan?

On one of my previous rides some years ago I had white smoke problem. When I started up I would get a cloud of white smoke and after high vacuum, then putting you food down again on the go peddle, the engine would ping and heaps of white smoke out the exhaust.

I took my car to my tuner to get it looked at. I rang him that afternoon expecting him to tell me I needed a total rebuild. He said all fixed. He had replaced my brake power booster.
What was happening was brake fluid was leaking into the vacuum chamber and under high vacuum circumstances, it was getting sucked into the inlet manifold and the engine burnt it. The engine pinging was due to the combustion being too high when it burnt the mix.

So check you brake fluid level and vacuum connection. It only has to be one small drop.

fucked if i know how they seized up man, nothing surprises me with my car anymore... yesterday while driving I smelt what smelt like brake pads burning but I wasn't braking. Pulled over to see that my calipers where smoking ( so badly in fact that i thought the smoke was coming from the engine bay)

reluctant to drive the car until I have put in replacement calipers due to safety reasons.

PS: you know your car is fucked when you see smoke coming from the calipers and actually feel quite happy that its not the engine that's smoking.
