    Unhappy Locating T50 gearbox mount

    Hi guys

I am sorry if this has been covered before but this is such a ridiculous problem I can't believe I'm actually having it.

I am looking for a T50 gearbox mount for my 4age KE70 conversion.
    • Autopro and Veale cannot find it in their catalogues for the ae71 or ae86
    • I have not called Toyota yet as I thought it would be straight forward to get a cheap second hand or aftermarket one

I know the 5spd ae71's are the best way to go, but all car parts shops I have tried only seem to list the 4spd and auto box mount which is not the right one.

Could someone please put me out of my misery and either sell me T50 mount or point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

I think they actually are quite hard to get.. and possibly no longer manufactured after market..but i am not sure where i get this information from!

Mackay Rubber list the AE86 manual one as A5018

They don't list a manual one at all for the KE70/Ae71 series, nor for celica's which also ran this gearbox.
Now - RA23 Celica - Charade DeTomaso - VW Type 3 Squareback - VE Ute
    Gone - KE10 - KE15 - KE35 Club Racer - TA22 - AE71 Corolla

having an AE86 and an AE71(5 spd) I can tell you the mount is different between these 2 cars....

The AE71 uses one bolt on each side to hold the tail of the transmission, while the AE86 uses 2 on each side. I believe the AE86 mount will fit on the AE71... but I have not tried to fit either the cross member, or the mount itself yet

Thanks guys, yeh the mounts might be differnet but im pretty sure you can still interchange them. (they are close enough or something).

Anyway - Japan has stopped manufacturing the mounts so you guys are right, second hand is the only option.

    Still looking
