Hey I have an ra23 sports sedan and a big problem it runs a mid mount RB20DET RB25 box Silvia coil overs With R33 Brakes and so on and so on( I Know many of you may frown on how much nissan parts are in it but when your sponser is a nissan parts importer you take wots cheap). My problem is it still has a standerd diff and with 300 ponies and ten inch tyres you can all guess how many diffs and axels ive been through Ive got it down to a twenty five minute job Apart from the obvious hi lux conversion has any one gone another route and used something different any help would be great and im not scared to attack it when we did the original conversion the guy that owns the shop told me there was no way the engine would fit he went off to answer a phone call so i jumped in the engine bay with a grinder bye bye fire wall

Heaps run the volvo diff, and i actualy have one here for cheapLOL
Volvo is good cause the centers are shared with jeep diffs, so parts are plentiful and cheap! Also, they are a big diff, but not as heavy as the hilux. A very worthy diff for general application...
I however, run the hilux cause i drive my car like a beat my wife... I mean i drive my car like a beat my wife... Oh, yeh thats the one right there
Cheers,
Jase
*i dont actualy beat my wife, but i do feel sorry for the guy who buys my car from me
**please dont take the above seriously, especially if you decide to buy my car![]()

mx10/13/22/23 are all f series diffs, they are wider than the celica one however, so take that into account. they also need the mounts etc cut off your current t series and welded onto the donor.

just to stop any confusion the MX10 and MX22 do NOT have a F series diff, its an E series which is smaller and has no LSD option.Originally Posted by Kedderz

volvo 240. cheap...blah, blah, blah...iove said it all a million times, search for the volvo diff conversion thread.
who really cares if you cross breed a diff? aslong as its strong.
I run a hilux diff in mine can't complain it's a bit heavy but i don't think it'll break any time soon.
Cheers

I run seventy mm of spacers on the back of the t series diff and the track is still 20mm shorter than the front so extra width would be nice and i still have no idea wot a mx10\12 or twenty three corona is a year model would be great if any one can help

volvo diff is 40mm wider then standard, plus has factory disc's, twin piton calipers....
search mate.....there hundreads of celica diff threads.
then the standard E series was swapped out during the course of the MX10's life for an F.Originally Posted by Kedderz
mx10 and mx22 the E was standard in australia, its not unheard of for E's to find their way into MX13's and vice versa as both diffs have the same mounting points.
sorry if it sounds like im up myself, i dont wish to argue the fact.
EDIT: some info for celicaspud the F series is a 7.5inch diff that came in the MX12 MX13 and MX23 Mark II Corona's (73 -75 i think). they are 4x114.3 stud pattern and 1410mm wide. these diffs are getting very rare now, almost not worth doing a wreckers run for them as you'll be driving around a while.

Volvos are indestructible, trust me...
But not sure on stud patern, from memory they are a 5 stud but would have to confirm that!
LSDs are also plentiful for the ovlovAnd i dont think you can say 'i'd like to keep it toyota' Mr. RB25 driveline!
Cheers,
Jase
Only reason i would like to keep it toyota is for weight reasons im on the edge as it is and there is no way im goin on a diet just put some photos of it in gallery wish i found this web site three years ago when i started to build the piece of junk

The Volvo diff that people use is apparently really a Dana 30 diff and they are 4x114.3 std pattern.
+1 hilux diff with ma70 discs, i havent had the pleasure of driving it yet but i have been assured my 1g single turbo will NOT break it
