Hey guys I have been toying with the idea of doing somthing different with my new engine,it has all the good bits so it should hold up to some good boost but im prefering to have somthing driveable rather than 20psi of wheel spin.
I wanted to throw the idea out there about supercharging the 3T. What would be involved? Has anyone seen one done?
I cant seem to find that info about the 2TG that was supercharged years ago,im assuming I could pretty much just follow the same path but with an SC14..
Any advice is welcome.
cheers

The bloke who had the TA22 with the supercharged 2TG is on this forum as 4SFED. You could always PM him![]()
Go for a spin in both SC and turbo cars of around the capacity of your 3T and see what you think of each.
My car has been both and would not go back to a toyota SC.
Edit: another nice thing with turbo is it's sooo easy to have different boost settings to suit what driving you are doing (I know I know throttle works too but it isn't the same as in-car adjustable peak boost control).
twin screw... although it kinda kills the budget... and maybe driving them is not that good anyway
what abotu a smaller, more lively turbo with bigger wastegate.... sacrafice some princess numbers and get bakc a fat midrange... works for rally cars![]()

Ricey.....
.... like these guys i will still recommend a turbo. Just pick a well matched turbo that gives you a nice fat midrange, and keep a low boost setting for regular driving.
The bonus with this is that if you get the itch for more power (and lets face it, who doesnt?), then you just have to push some buttons.... and farken whooosh you gots more powah.
With the supercharger, you will either end up spending a lot more money to get a better supercharger... or end up getting the shits with an SC14 and converting to turbo anyway.
Turbo ftw
...... butt scratcher?!
Yeah I know makes sense, will just boost this new engine with a well matched turbo.

M90's are cheap.
and it probably has the potential to push over 20psi on a 1.8L (with intercooling)
wheelspin from 1200rpm![]()
