    Default Wiring DIY fuel cut

I want to make a DIY fuel cut defender from the thread; (as pictured)

    http://www.toymods.net/forums/showth...=fuel+defender

My question is how exactly is it wired up.

do you cut the wires going to and from the map sensor or just wire in the components?

so for example the signal wire would go into the MAP and have the diodes coming off of it before it goes into the map.?

    hope this is explained ok

    cheers

you have to cut the map sensor signal wire and wire the fcd in series (like an ammeter)

hey didnt your commo get stolen a while ago or something?

yeah the commo was stolen almost two years ago. been sitting in the shed ever since. I gradually just been fixin it up, now its registered and has a new 3 inch zorst with dump pipes, (never had a good exhaust before thats why i need the FCD fitted) just a bit of panel work to go.

Officer Doofy will the easier FCD on this forum do the same thing?

    yep,

ive built and used the type with 2 diodes + 1k pot on a 1JZGTE and 2JZGTE and work great.

you dont have to cut the map sensor wire either.

    just splice into it.

yeah so basically on the pic in the link , the dots on wires are where you splice into the wire.

    the harder fcd is better.

there is an article about why but i cant find it.

the easy fcd 'bleeds' boost signal to the ecu weather you are at 5psi or 20psi, which leans out your mixture across the whole rev range

the hard one will only kick in at the boost level you set it, is set at 18psi and any boost level signal UP to 18psi will not be altered going into the ecu.

not the one we are referring to with 2 diodes and a pot.

when the map sensor voltage is higher then the pot voltage, the circuit is clamped at the pot voltage.

you are probably referring to the type that is just a grounding resistor which will scale the signal
