Hey guys,
Just bought a Chaser and just wondering if anyone can help me out.
Basically had a problem with the digital climate control when you would set the temperature lower than the cabin temperature there would be some motor behind the dash always clunking. You could clearly hear that a motor was getting stuck somewhere. Anyway I've been busy so I didn't get a chance to find out what it was and now it is even worse. No matter what temperature you set it at, it will always clunk but at different tones according to the cabin temp.
Now the big problem is that the temperature coming out of the vents no longer change. So I don't have a heater or full aircon anymore.
Hopefully this is a good thing as it will make it easier for you guys to help me identify which motor has killed itself.
Any help is appreciated, Thanks guys.![]()
Probably the air mix servo has died - the one that control the flap that control the amount of air either going through or bypassing the heater core. I'm not sure if you will be able to remove the motor without pulling out the entire heater/fan/air con assembly (I can't remember if they're 3 piece or 1 piece...).
I think I might have a spare somewhere - I know I pulled apart a JZX100 half cut but I can't remember where I put all the bits

Thanks for the reply mate. I got a pic here, wondering if you still remembered whereabouts this "air mix servo" is located, so I'm not just pulling stuff apart blindlyOriginally Posted by Mos

Going by what you said it looks like I'll have to take apart the glove box as well?![]()
