88262 cam cover with non raised lettering?? got a pic?
the 260, 261 and 262 heads ive got/seen either have large or small raised lettering, but say the same thing.. 'toyota dohc'

theres also an 88223 head that came in norwegian spec te71. its a carby version made in early 80's with large 'toyota dohc' on exhaust side. looks to be 88222 type mikuni's on an efi head. has 88223 cams also. roy and sigve in norway have these te71's.

    Fonzy,

I have NFI what version of engine that is !

    Mark,

I think there is some confussion as information gets re written. The 88262 head does have raised letting. the DOHC letting does not have raised edges Ie no channel in the middle of them, they are flat on top and completely raised as shown and listed in the rocker cover comparison thread

Any chance of some pics of there 88263 heads you mention ? They are new to me and it would great to add them to the thread.

Those headers look like the TRD high rise. Very nice. Could be some sort of low end TRD race engine. Or someone just raided the TRD catalogue back in the day when parts were available for the 22. But whatever it is its got some trick parts. If thats yours you are a lucky man.

    Cheers

hey guys i am slightly confused about the water pump, i have purchased a standard 2t waterpump and there is no way it will fit on my 2tg, there is one outlet on it which on a standard 2t atatches to a very short hos and goes straight into the head. But when i place this waterpump on my 2tg this outlet fouls on the head, i am guessing i could cut the outlet off and then block as was said above. Also can i just put a 2tg pulley on the 2t water pump to suit the correct pulley offset?
If anyone could post a pic of their water pump clearly showing outlets, etc that would be great!
    Cheers, Josh

In River's thread, it shows you the difference between 2T and 2T-G water pumps.
    http://www.toymods.net/forums/showth...&highlight=2tg

there are 2 different pullys, one is the conventional plain pully whilst the other is for the magnetic clutch fan (efi models 2T-GEU and well as the 3T-GTE).

there are 2 different water pumps for the 2T-G that suit the 2 different pullys. Pully's are not interchangeable due to their offset and PCD of the mounting bolt holes.

Check with your local auto parts store what water pump they can provide you with, and if possible ask for a picture.
The water pump with a longer shaft suits the conventional pully:

and one with the shorter suits mag/clu:

    hope that helps.

yer mine appears to be roughly the same as the first one, but the bolt holes on my pulley are way off compared to the water pump. The measurement of the mounting holes from diagonals on the new pump is 45 mm and on my standard 2t pulley the holes are more like 55mm apart so 45mm is for 2tg And i need to get a 2tg pulley? and also like i previously said mine has an outlet on the right hand side that is much longer than the ones you picured, can this be chopped off and blocked?
    Cheers, Josh

Yes the extra coolant outlet can be chopped off and sealed. We use a allen key headed taper plug to seal them.

You can use wither pump as long as you have the right pulley to go with it. The 3T pump and pulley has the shorter shaft length and will give you more clearance for thermo fans and the like.

Hello i'm new here and i read this post and i must say it's awesome!!!
    So i have some questions
I bought some si valves the dimensions are: Intake: 45mm exhaust: 40.4mm
Next i'm thinking in arias 11:1 costume pistons to open ~1800 but i need to use stock rods and crank

Any off you guys can help me to give me this(http://www.ariaspistons.com/products/orderform.pdf) dimensions because since i'm at united states and my engine is in Portugal i can't take the dimensions, i will use stock rods and crackshaft.

I'm thinking in use 304º and 320º camshafts.
How much power should i espect from this engine?
Can you recomend me any store here in united states to buy the parts i need?
    Thanks
