Who here has used/tuned/installed an SAFC II

Howdy,

I got my SAFC II installed into the aristo on sunday and it was all good apart from using the wrong signal for RPM from the computer...ive since fixed this up and it now reads RPM correctly. Ive tried to configure the knock sensor reading but I think i might have ballsed it up...becuase last night i gave it a squirt and its read 205knock...which is very high and would be giving an audible pinging sound...which it clearly is not...

ive also wired the knock readout into the rear knock sensor signal as that is the one that is most likely to knock...surely external exhaust noise couldnt be affecting the knock readout that much?

any calibration tips?

You brokes it good. No 2JZ for you, one year.

Its mis-calibrated, calibrate it properly and it will read better. My SX was reading at about 5-10 most of the time, and up to 20 on really damn hot days

yup needs ajustment. If you didnt get the manuals with your unit, i have them and you can borrow them should you wish they step you through setup/adjusting the sensors.

Just read the manual, fiddle, and re read. that all I can say... I am trying to set up my AVC-R... they are just a PITA to get used to! - but worth it when you are! (I also have an SAFC-ii)

Did you guys here that Apex'i have gone bust? (again) sad news as they have made some top quality products!

As for the knocking, check the isolation on the knock sensor wiring. Eletrical interfence could cause a false reading...
