    Default weber 32/36@18r/c

I am having all sorts of fun putting a weber 32/36 onto my 18rc. Can anyone tell me if I leave the heat shield/spacer on there or do I take it off being as I have the adapter plate to go on. it is the same thickness as the heat shield/spacer so i dont know if to leave them both on or not. Cheers.

    Leave it on.
Without it the carb will get too hot.

From memory by 32/36 18r/c didn't have a heat shield. I'll try and dig out some old pics for ya if I've till got em

My 18R-C did have the heat shield, i use it to make an adapter plate for the 32/36, so i kept it and put it to good use.

Leave it there. If anything you should try and reduce its thickness... but the heat that it stops is well worth having it there. I left mine on when I did the 32/26 weber swap, and didnt have problems... lil bro has a weber on his 18RC and it has the heat sheild too... so no probs again. Both of them had the redline manifold adaptor plate.

yeah mate they sure are. I went through some old posts here on the 18rc 32/36 and have found out a lot about the jetting of them. mine is 140 primary 135 secondary and the air mix jets are 165 primary and 180 secondary. Going by what I have read here i need biger main secondary and smaller air mix jets. It dont matter what gear I am in if I hold the throttle still the car surges and backs off all the bloody time. The only way to stop it is to floor it . At present time the car has no more grunt that the factory carb. So it looks to me I will be playing with the jetting to some degree. Cheers bro.
