i no this is toyota, but i got this lil run around datto '78 200b
the clutch is playing up, there hydraulic like the brakes.. the clutch has its own slave cylinder.
anyway.. after about 7-10minutes of driving, the clutch would go all limb. and won't let me change gears. it sometimes sticks in gear and stalls when i come to a stop, it wont come out of gear.
it only does this occassionally.. it strangely has something to do with the brakes too
the brakes work fine, no problems with them. but when the clutch goes dead " to the floor" with little or no pressure.. after pumping the brakes a few times.. the clutch comes back?
is this signs of a dying clutch, i had a few before in previous rides and they didn't act like this, they usually just died instantly.
these are the things i have done
ive checked my clutch fluid level and the fluids all shitty brown looking,
bleed the clutch to see it if would make a difference, (pressure returned for a while)
checked the lines, no sign of leakage.
its drivable. but i always seems to stuff up when im in traffic.. headaches

any idea's, either way im still gonna have to get it fixed.
Thats quite strange, the only help i can offer is with regards to the brakes being pumped to get the clutch to work is to ask wether the brake lines and clutch lines are connected somehow. I know its unlikely but beats the hell out of me why you have to pump the brakes to get the clutch to work again. Apart from that it may be your slave or master cylinder broken/on the way out but i'll let more learned people comment on that. Good luck with it.

You have a hydraulic problem, and any connection to the brake, unless they feed off the same reservoir, is 100% fantasy.
hvaing them feeding from the same resiviour isnt that unusual, certainly not on newer cars, but the old datto i wouldnt expect it.
if youve got no leaks first thing id be doing would be not just bleeding it but flushing it all the way though. keep bleeding it until you get the new clean fluid though and have got rid of all of the old browned up fluid. as fluid gets old it takes wears out and will boil much eaiser which will cause a lack of pressure delivered to the slave cyl and also the spongy feel.
if that dosent do it id be looking at replacing the slave cyl and then the master cyl, the hydraulic system is pretty simple.
we all thought i was a cable clutch, til we looked....
the fluid doesn't get really hot tho. its strange, never mind ill get it looked at.
as the fluid ages its boiling point becomes signifiantly reduced. even if its not getting hot at the slave cyl does the line run past something else thats hot ? exhaust ? you could be getting fluid boiling in the middle of the line ?
