Default thinking of converting to e85, ae86 4a.

ran a few search's and came up with only conflicting stories, so wouldnt mind hearing back from experience, hopefully of a few years running e85.

will the steel tank be ok from ae86 ? i understand the e85 will "clean" the tank so my fuel system could get clogged with gunk. get a new tank or run a cell ?
    aluminum surge tanks ?
are copper lines ok ? ive heard yes an no ?
all other rubber lines will be replaced with ethanol safe lines.
Bosch fuel pump 044/040 which ever the big one is, thats whats in it now. ive heard they are ok ,not ok, and only warranted for like 400hrs ??
i also have carter 72lt/hr lift pump, but ill contact them about that, unless yas have used one with success.
fuel pressure reg, using an aeromotive a1000, pretty sure these are alc safe anyway.
injectors, ill get some new ones.

    running old e6x ecu.

never really had anything to do with e85 setups so dont know much about what works with it.

    cheers !

I just put the 205 on E85, answering your questions in order:
Yeah I'm using my stock steel lines and standard tank, I gave them a flush through before doing a tune and banged in a new fuel filter shortly after.
    Copper and alloy is fine.
Yep replace all rubber lines, I used teflon braid for the pressure lines (so tank to chassis line and filter to fuel rail)
044 is the big one, not sure on that one, how old? What does Bosch say?
Reg should be fine, regs for years (proper ones) have been alcohol/safe
Yep get some bigger units, how much power are you after? 800s should be enough, maybe 1000s at around 3.5bar fuel pressure.

I'm only running a Power FC, not the most intelligent ecu, not rulling a flex fuel sensor obviously and only running the pump e85.

ok cool thanx heaps for that.
apparently bosch will only warrant the 044 for so many hours (400) but thats just 2nd hand internet info, i havent contacted them direct about that yet.
power wise, going from what i have now, on e85 might push around 450+hp
at the moment im running 550cc injectors running at 65psi at full boost (22psi) ill be turning up the boost on e85.

happy i dont have to change my copper lines, and the tank ill give a real good clean out, dam thing is 32yrs old.

    cheers for the info !
