Default stoptech vs brembo: any brake gurus in here

been stumbling across some bargain brakes lately which i dont have the strength to say no to..

    heres what i have

    f50 brembo calipers (44/40mm)
    f40 brembo calipers (44/38mm)
    stoptech - st40 (40/36mm)

for those that dont know, stoptech apparently copied f40 brembo design and modify them for the better,,, claim they are significantly stiffer etc etc.. they look pretty similar however are not identical mouldings or anything

i know f50s are generally regarded as better then f40s but the only diff i know of it the leading piston being 2mm bigger....

my question is - how would the stoptech calipers rate as far as performance to the brembos with the bigger pistons... the brembos run ferrari pads while the stoptechs run a porsche pad

edit.. ps - im chasing a jza80 hats to suit 355x32mm rotors so if anyone has any hook ups that will be great

The piston sizing needs to be suitable for your vehicle (master cylinder, pedal ratio, bias, etc...)

If those stoptechs are 4 pistons then they are way to small for our cars.

(when looking at piston surface area)
The F40's are 8% larger than stock
    F50's are 4% smaller
    ST40's are 15% smaller.

I'm not sure what the acceptable limits are without affecting to much, but I'd hazard a guess that anything outside the +/- 10% range would be too far.
