    ok guys as far as i know the 2jz ignition is like the 1jz the early non vvti ones are definately COP one coil per cylinder the later vvti ones like te 1jz is wasted spark one coil for two cylinders

    CoP doesn't mean they're direct fired ... sideshow and chris found early 1JZGTEs with the coils wired in pairs meaning that they fire in waste-spark mode even tho they've got individual coils.

    Okays... Well I'm still uncertain whether the 2jzgte is seq or not, but I've solved the issue. The person/tuning shop i bought this from had a pair of ignition wires in back to front. Now this is easy to do with the Japlish translation showing both pins being yellow black when in fact the ignition in is yellow white and the ignition out is yellow black...

    When comapring to an image from a website, the yellow's were around the wrong way... swapped them over and all is good
