Hi, Im new to the forum. What i want to know is that why is the 1jz into cressida conversion more common than the 2jz.

A few reasons
-JZX81's exist so if you buy a JZX81 front cut you can simply 'bolt' all the parts into a MX83. -1JZ is quite a bit cheaper than 2JZ in initial price -1JZ is easier to find Cheers Wilbo |

2JZ hits the brake booster I believe.

Rear turbo on the 2JZGTE clears the factory booster by about half a bees dick, so as soom an you start it, it will hit..
Easiest fix is to get a customer (smaller) booster made up, or if you are EXTREMELY lucky, source a GX81 Brake booster and it will fit. My custom booster, all brand new PBR bits, was $330 incl GST.

What kind of half cut would you use to get 2jz and can you still use the auto box with it

yeppers,...
JZS147 series Aristo... try and get a "1995 on" one though as it has the fitting in the plenum for the brake booster

Feasible, kinda but a lot of work. The problem with the MX62 is it has recirculating-ball steering which means you have a great big steering box where the exhaust wants to be.

MA61 engine mounts should work, MX32 auto gerabox mount if you put a W5x behind it... Oh and single turbo to get rid of the steerinx gox issues ![]() Would be sweet! Cheers Wilbo |

I reckon it wouldn't be hard to convert one to rack and peanut.

God, that would be like my wet dream of car related stuff, anyways. My first car was an MX62 cressie, with a 1J it would absolutely positively haul fucking arse.
