Hi, Im new to the forum. What i want to know is that why is the 1jz into cressida conversion more common than the 2jz.

Default Re: 1jz or 2jz for cressida

A few reasons

-JZX81's exist so if you buy a JZX81 front cut you can simply 'bolt' all the parts into a MX83.
-1JZ is quite a bit cheaper than 2JZ in initial price
-1JZ is easier to find

Cheers
Wilbo

Rear turbo on the 2JZGTE clears the factory booster by about half a bees dick, so as soom an you start it, it will hit..

Easiest fix is to get a customer (smaller) booster made up, or if you are EXTREMELY lucky, source a GX81 Brake booster and it will fit.

My custom booster, all brand new PBR bits, was $330 incl GST.

I would suggest a GT40 or T04Z to fix that clearance issue....obviously there would be the other benefits too

Feasible, kinda but a lot of work. The problem with the MX62 is it has recirculating-ball steering which means you have a great big steering box where the exhaust wants to be.

Tis a fantastic idea!

MA61 engine mounts should work, MX32 auto gerabox mount if you put a W5x behind it...

Oh and single turbo to get rid of the steerinx gox issues

Would be sweet!

Cheers

My first car was an MX62 cressie, with a 1J it would absolutely positively haul fucking arse.
