    Default W55 bellhousing 22R 18R

Do you guys know if you need different ball housings to fit W55 to 18R and 22R and how about the Hilux pulling out a W50 and fitting a W55, do you use the same bellhousing?

W50 bellhousing does not fit W55, have not tried 18R to 22R.

    W50 bellhousing different to W55/6/7/8.

18R bellhousing pattern the same as 22R.

    I just saw a W55 from a Corona RT133 22R engined, fitted onto a bellhousing that was on a W50 from a Hilux on an 18R engine???

I thought the 130 Series Corona's had W40 and 50's rather than 55's? Cast iron case is W40/50, alloy case is W55/6/7/8. Front of box is an oval shape on the 55/6/7/8, looks very different to front of the W40/50.

Me also, They didnt bother too look up til now, when a guy called about a "Supra" Box for his V8. both Coronas checked in the Hamilton yard had Supra type alloy boxes attached to them. Late model Corona 4 door imports with 4 square headlights 22R and 21R engines, non BW boxes and diffs. So question is iif some of these Coronas have W55 gearboxes as per Stephos site, then what sort of diffs do they have? F series? Damn AMI for not putting stuff on the firewall plates. I have worked in this yeard for weeks now and was never aware there were any good gearboxes around.
