YES, he starts threads in a really bad fashion

YES, he isn't usually COMPLETELY right in what he says

YES, he doesn't always delineate the location of his threads correctly

    BUT,

    he IS trying

he DOES half the time supply interesting information (I didn't know squat about those engines till now)

he IS clearly of a different nationality and he's trying to assimilate the australian/english way of doing things / language, rather than sticking to his own.

    Give him a chance.

Yes Stew, you do know a lot more than the rest of us, as is clear by your 'reputation' points, and it's a knowledge of the automotive domain that I am no where near close to, as are most people on here.

This doesn't mean you have to put yourself up on a pedestal above the rest of us. Yes, you help a lot of people out, and yes you generally try to be helpful with people that you feel you can help / want to help. Doesn't give you the right to out right flame the ones you don't want to help.

Not quite one of those, I was thinking something from the 60s and a little bigger.

    Was a funny writeup though

Sure is! Listen to it scream

If only it was small enough to fit into a car, the sound alone would be worth the terrible fuel economy. Too bad it'd be an environmental disaster area on wheels

Allan, who used to post on the old forums, had a truck powered by one. Huge huge blower.

    hi guys

i have a 1KD-FTV in my toyota truck too... but i am having a load of problems with it

the engine oil level keep rising and at a pretty fast rate too.

it is rising by about 3-4mm after 2-3 weeks of driving (300km), and that triggers a sensor in the sump and the ecu will run into limp mode because of that.

the only way is to drain it and top it up with fresh oil, and then it will happen all over again.

i have teared down the engine, but cannot seem to find the point of entry of the contaminant. it has to be diesel that is entering the oiling system somewhere and causing this problem.

would anyone have any clue where i should be looking from?

    thanks

It is possible for your injector return pipe to be leaking into the cam cover area, if your injectors are leaking.
Also it could be leaking from the injector pipes on the supply side to your cam cover.

i have changed all these O rings at the injectors as per picture... TWICE!
    but it didnt help

recently after the engine tear down, it seems to get worse.. i am getting more diesel into the engine oil more frequently.

the injector pipes on the supply side also looks rather clean... i presume you are refering to these pipes right?

any other area that i should be looking at? a faulty pump perhaps?

are there any other location that might leak diesel into the oil?

The pipe with 23760 and the washers 23760a are where it could be entering in the first picture.
I would be replacing that pipe and all the washers.

    Thanks!
i will look into that. i did not think that the diesel distribution from that fuel line will cause the diesel to seep into the engine oil. it didn't seem related as i would have thought at most, it will just leak out a little and not INTO the engine.

    i will try it!
