Yep, its time for another one! I figure you all know how the deal by now, but i've got to put something in this post, so;
Cost: $140
This doesn't include the electronic timers we had last time, still looking into this and will probably do it, will add $10-$15 to the cost. Also, before anyone asks (someone usually does) the keen-eyed amongst you will notice the costs sometimes change from one of my days to the next. This is because i organise this with 2 different groups of mates and we have a limit of 30 cars at one and 25 at this one. Hence why this one costs a little more. Also means not as many spots available.
What you need: Helmet, Valid CAMS (or driver's licence to get Wakefield clubsport licence - $40/12 months), and neck/ankle/wrist length clothing. Also, bring a really warm jacket, goulburn is not the warmest place in the middle of june!! Especially if you're going to stay with us in the cabins on one/both nights (~$20/night)
This will only be 6 weeks after the last one, still too long i think! But it may be a longer break till the next one... I really struggle to cope from one track day to the next![]()
Also, spectators/passengers are more than welcome, had a bunch down last time, it'd be good to see again.

I'd come watch/film/photograph but it's my Dad's birthday on the 16th
That's cool boys, that's the way things fall sometimes. Adam, i kinda had the same problem last time, i'd been in my new job no more than a day before i was telling the boss about the next day i'd need off for wakefield. Luckily, he's been down there for a few days by now so he was actually bugging me for when the next one was![]()

I have to get out there soon though...

Stivo, re the tyres, you sure you can get them in 50's? I tried to get them when i was looking for 205/45's but couldn't. I found out later you can get 205/40s, so not sure about 50s? I do know there was a staged release on sizes, more have become available since i was looking.

205/50 r16 is pretty common as Rexies can use them
you could get them in the 215s so I just thought they would transfer the sizes to 615s too
i'll look into taking the day off work to come down and spectate.

205/50's would be a bit big for me i think, having clearance issues with the (softer sidewalled) pirellis and not quite enough offset, and also the 205/40's will keep my speedo closer to correct.
Finney, only spectating?? Surely this would be the perfect way to get back in the groove?![]()

I'll be keen for your next day GT, this one won't be possible.
Just a note on the RT615 Falkens you guys are talking about. The Falken global site lists a 205/40R16 as being available and on Friday I went to my local Falken dealer to order a set, he called Falken and they informed him that they aren't doing that size in AusHe actually said to me when he got off the phone they won't be doing anything under 17" in the RT615
Even though a member of this forum said he has 615s in 15"
![]()
If someone tracks down a tyre outlet that does an RT615 in 205/40R16 then let us all know![]()
Have a good time at the track![]()
that is crap from Falken Aus... for some tarmac rally events they do not allow you to drop below a 40% aspect ratio. Many older classics run on 15s and 16s. Now I suppose they all have to pay top $$$$ for YokisOriginally Posted by YLD-16L
. Oh well, looks like I may have to invest in some 17s for the track then, but I'd have to run 215/45-R17 as they do not do 205/45 or 215/40 in semis. The only problem is that the 215/45s scrub big time.

When do you need to know by?
I'm 99% in, especially as my Wakefield licence runs out around then, so might as well get one more use out of it.
Also means I'm going to have to pull my finger out to find out what's holding my engine back (besides the oily fuel I have to use)
hahha yeah i know.. but i'd like some decent tyres for a track day sicne these current ones have been sitting for the last 6 months they're pretty average. would also like to have an oil cooler before hitting teh track aswell. once my bonus comes through i'll invest in one.Originally Posted by -GT-

If you are going to be running the timing system count me in!!!!
Roundy, steve, be good to have you along. If you're 100% i'll get the money off you and confirm your spots. Let me know and i'll pm you my bank details. If you're not certain yet, it's a little hard to tell when i need to know by; its basically who gets their money in gets a definate spot, so as long as we're not full i'll grab a spot for you as soon as you confirm as a definate.
Hodgo (and others), as soon as i hear definately about the timing i'll let everybody know. I'd say we will be doing it, i'm just not the one organising them, but i'll post when i hear.
Guys, there's still some spots left, the level of enthusiasm shown early in this thread (![]()
) is matched elsewhere, so i imagine you'll still be able to grab a spot this weekend, maybe early next week. But, can't promise.
YLD, thanks for the info, i noticed the same thing with availability worldwide, shame the aus site has ZERO info...Be good to see you down there next time, looks like a lot of people are gearing up for that one. (early august i think, but not confirmed yet)
