Hi guys, just an update on our popular KKR drift pineapples. We sell these to all the Nissan owners and figured that there should be no reason you can't fit them to Toyotas.
Offical blurb reads as follows:
New from KKR are these classic Drift Pineapple bushes.
These rear cradle bushes suit most RWD Nissan imports, allowing the rear cradle to be held firm for more dynamic response, which is better for both drift and circuit racing.
The KKR Drift Pineapple bushes can also be used to alter the static angle of the rear cradle for more or less grip under acceleration. Each set of four bushes includes a length of stainless steel wire for locking the larger bushes, which are split for easier fitting.
Recommended retail is $89.00 per set.
A good friend of mine Dennis from Grim Performance was commenting about axle tramp in his 'killer' JZZ30 and once on the hoist it was clear that the front cradle bushes were too soft. Further inspection showed that although the bush was not damaged there was a fair amount of flex in it when loaded.
Dennis was confident our KKR Drift Pienapples would fix the problem so we threw the Soarer on the hoist and got to work.
The factory JZZ30 rear cradle has vertical front mounting bushes while the rear are horizontal. Unfortunately this means that we could only fit the front two bushes but seeing as they were flexing under load we should still see an improvement. And by fittign only the front we were effectively altering the static angle of the diff to improve traction.
After dropping the front cradle bolts we were able to lower the cradle and slip the bushes in place. Interestingly the bush fits snuggly ontop of the factory bush like it was meant to be there.
After the bolts were tightened Dennis took the Soarer for a blast, with me riding shot gun and commented on how much of a difference they had made. Having not expereinced the initial tramp i can't comment. What i can tell you is that the car slides very, very comfortably and tramp was no exsistent even on hard take offs.
I'll get him to give is 5 cents worth also.
The whole job took no longer than 15mins and for $89 per set, i think this is a worth while upgrade if axle tramp is a problem for you. Unfortunately i can't split the sets so depending on model you may end up with two extra bushes.
I will be investigating other Toyota models over the coming weeks and am confident they will suit Z20/A70 as well.

my 5 cents worth !!!!!!!!! these pine apple bushes altho not made for the rear of a soara actly do work rather well , had massive axel tramp problems in both my soara's ive had now which can get rather annoying ,
these bushes are simple and affective had to make a slight modification being that a slit had to be cut in the smaller bushes to slide them round the rear cradle bolts but apart from that they were easy and pain less to install ,
made a big diffrence to the firmness of the rear of the car wile sliding and on launch's !
deffanatly worth $89 and and are a grate product

Grant will these suit Z20's?
or will they be in the process of making some that will?

Z20- SOLD
Should be a straight fit.
On top of the Z20 cradel (between the chassis and cradel) ist flat so no reason they wont fit.
Cheers
Sounds good. You will recieve a PM from me soon enough.

Do they make the ride a lot harsher?
they should fit cressy if they suit a70, although diffs have same centers the housing's only differance is mounting location.
A pic will confirm.
Cheers
Yes, but the cressi diffs mount HORIZONTALLY with 2 hex bolts at the rear,
and only 1 rubber bushing that is offset to 1 side of the diff.
With the amount of trouble I had putting the factory rubber back in when it fell out
on my MX83, the drift pineapple might be a bit difficult...making up a urethane
replacement for the MX83 rubber may be the go..
cheers,

I am keen for some of these for me cress as well.
So,do the pics help grant? Will the X subframe take the fruit??
I saw this pic on importmonster..
I see no issue with these fitting. The mounting points look fine the only issue could be the diameter of the pineapples needed.
I.e. do you need four large ones or four small ones.
ill take 4 large ones please
are these still avaliable? i know a few jzz30 soarers that suffer from axle tramp, and these might be the go. mine is one of them.. cheer
yeah mate there still avable and make a huge diffrance
