jzx81 swap finished, but auto trans acts funky

hello everyone!


i just recently finished up a jzx81 motorset into my 89 cressida(usa) and took the car for a test drive. i am only able to get the car to drive in 1st gear, so i hooked up "NCO+" and "NCO-" to the appropriate plugs and now the car will go to 2nd gear, however it fights back to go into 1st gear, then back to 2nd. also when this was happening my abs light came on, so i pulled the fuse to that, but that didnt help.


do you all know what else i maybe able to try to get this transmission fully functional?

This topic has been covered to death in many threads on here. If you haven't tried everything in those threads search for them now. There is a speed sensor issue with MX83->JZX81 that's documented and well understood.
If you haven't hooked up NCO+- in the first place it suggests a lot is not hooked up properly.
ABS light on suggest you haven't hooked up the ABS gearbox speed sensor.
Please search and read the threads first, then if you still have questions ask.

looking at my wiring notes, i didnt hook up spd2

so i just finished hooking up spd1 on the 22 pin connector and now my trans functions perfectly! thanks mos!

i found out that my spd1 was not hooked up at all on my22 pin connector coming from the dash. hooked that bad boy up and my trans functions perfectly now!
