yeah i was hoping to go on another one this year, was good fun last time.

are you talking about the drift day/nights or the actual track days?

nah dude. actual track days.

My focus of the car is changing. Want a more track orientated car now/tuff streeter more than a drift hack.

Drifting is tons of fun but want to try something else now.

Only 6 months till i go overseas so want to try and get one day in somewhere before i go.

I definately wanna go back to wakefield within said 6 months, knowing the car is capable of much better times than i have been able to pull off is eating away at me lol

Plus - extracterd from MRT site -

Eastern Creek
(no helmets are required, all drivers and passengers must have a valid drivers licence)
Gates open at 7.30 and the track will open at 9am and like above we will have a "track" walk at 8.30 and then a drivers briefing at 9.00 followed by a short tech session to prepare you.

Newbie's can then attend a special tech session for a further 30 minutes to allow you better understanding of the track and your car.
The track is closed for 20 mins at morning tea, so everyone can swap ideas over a cold drink or Cappuccino whilst enjoying some local cakes and pastries.
A BBQ Lunch (at the skid pan control centre), will be at 1 pm for an hour and the track is again closed so everyone can enjoy time together and "network" and chat!
On Track Format
The main aim for the day is to have fun and learn the limits of your car. As this event is at very low speeds its a great opportunity to test your (and your cars) limits with
no risk of hittting or sliding off the track!
Your cars limits will be very easy to reach and even more easy to then diagnose and solve.
+ You will learn what Understeer and Oversteer is.
+ You will learn how to control wheelspin.
+ You will learn from others and see what other cars can and can't do.
+ You will learn how to brake with and without your cars Anti Lock Brakes (ABS)
+ You will learn how to do a handbrake turn (if you want to !).
+ If your car can, you will learn how to do "donuts" and power slides. (if you want to !)

As usual the support team will be on hand to help and advise you with solutions to solve your cars weakness's as well!
If you have a track car this is a rare opportunity to diagnose and fine tune your cars set up.
If you have a std road car you will also gain a lot!

sounds good.

which is a better beginners track, i have done an EC day just wondering if wakefield is more or less challenging?

Def Wakefield is better for a begginer as its safer lol. Technically I think Wakefield might be more challengin, especially in a big car like Supra. The Fish hook after many years of racing at wakefield, still gets me at times haha..I usually brake too late.

EC for me is a fun and fast track, but becuase there is walls, im definatley not going 10/10ths, more like 7/10ths, so Im going in slower etc etc.

yeah EC scared the bejesus out of me, but having the instructor in the car really helped, there is no way i would have been pushing as hard as i was if i hadnt had him in the car. especially down the straight into the first corner...

might have to give wakefield a go..

wakefield has some corners which are tough to nail, but you can go in all guns blazing and spear off into the grass (like i do pretty much every second lap) and no harm done :)

unless you do a cuzzo and roll it.........

So what kind of day did u go to where u had an instructor in the car?

lIke the one that was mentioned before.

it was just a normal ec track day. There is no timing but there a bunch of instructors there and you can take them in the car if you like. Alot of the guys didnt take them in the car but i would have been going alot slower if i didnt, alot slower. I think i hit about 220 down the straight. I would do one of those again for sure.

Its a bit gay not having timing but you can use your phone anyway.

-GT- on here organises Wakefield days.
This is a closed group (so no tosser wannabes apart from us who already know & therefore drive accordingly).

I think the next one will be in May sometime so keep an eye on this section. I know I'll be going after recent improvements to my car.
