ok, first off you might actually provide some info, even if its the CAR its going into.
although im going to assume supra.
then, you need to state the YEAR, im going to assume pre 89.
in that case, the pre 89 7MGTE wiring diags will be helpful, as most of the wires are same or similar.
just dont go joining up all the wire colours together and hoping its gonna work.

yeah sorry. mine is a 86.5 ma70, 7m-ge.

Ok will find the wiring diags for that model and email them in pdf to you, first of all I need to know what car the 1J came out of and what year, and how much of the 1J setup do you have? Is it just the engine, box and ecu or do you have a front cut with a dash and everything?

The 1jz is out of a jza70r supra. It is a complete half cut manual. It has the analogue dash. Mine is a ma70 auto. I was hoping to use my dash cluster if possible. Really appreciate your assistance mate as i know this is gonna be the 'hard bit' and most people seem to have done the conversion on later models, having trouble finding the early model info. Thanks again, Steve.

yeah, and spend six days piecing everything together.
ive wired two of these bastards up so far,
basically, to make the car run off the key (including fuel pump), you need the two thick ass wires behind the glove box, the medium sized wire, and i think another 2 small ones.
then theres the EA2 connector in the engine bay, with 3 wires to run your alternator (not including the big thick one that goes onto your battery) and i think a further 3 or 4 for your ignitor.
i have the diagrams here, but i cant be bothered confirming.
obviously this wont make it run quite like sideshows jobs (i.e. properly) but will get a manual car going, and driveable, additional wiring is needed for ABS etc. etc.
then youve got some more wiring (depending on whether digi dash or not) to wire in your boost, oil, temp etc. guages, check engine etc. lights, and your tacho, as long as youve got your speedo cable (i dont know whether your original would fit if your car was manual as im not sure if W58 and R154/A340 are the same) plugged in and obviously your fuel guage is already wired in.
a decent job (YOU MUST SOLDER/CRIMP THESE BASTARDS!!@##@!##@!#!%$) should take you half a day, but at least it'll be done right.

id just prefer to use my ozzie one, with the 240kmh speedo, maybe i can change to speedo only
would also like to retain the oil pressure guage, rather than the light in the jza70 dash, i know id loose the factory boost guage, but its not the best boost guage anyway. Id prefer something in psi.

well, in order to retain that oil pressure guage, you need to fit the 7M sender into the 1J block.
this can be done, but requires a 90 degree fitting, as otherwise it hits something. (i think the alternator/air con), you can use a rubber hose to do this, but then you'll have to earth the sender to the block, which isnt too hard.
should work a-ok then.

look, do this, take pictures of your 1J plugs, off the engine loom, and then pics of your body loom, and ill tell you what wires to join to make it run.
as i said, join the two REALLY THICK wires (engine loom to body loom) and your engine (from memory) should crank. then its a few more and she'll start etc. etc.
then do the same for the dash.

it makes me laugh sometimes
if someone told u where the wires go it would take them 5 days
to get everythign to work and be reliable u need to connect about 30 to 40 wires
and they are not all at the same spot
