thought i would throw up some pics and info on my current project.
its a slightly modified 1jzgte, with a Greddy T88-33d turbo, around 50mm greddy wastegate, 850cc injectors, Ogura Racing Clutch triple plate, Osgiken close ratio R154 gearbox, and plenty of other goodies.. hopefully it will go well and be some fun!
Turbo needs a clean...

Mate, LOVE IT!!!
I hope you have a drag strip down there! :D
special_agent_bilge
31-08-2006, 03:33 PM

its only about 25mins from me,
have a feeling tractions gunna be a problem on street tyres out there tho.

I can tell you that with a manual you are going to have SERIOUS traction issues. If you can make any boost in 1st gear off the line it is going to go up in smoke with regular tyres.
I know all the rage is street tyres, pump gas etc. but with a turbo that big I would just whack some slicks on it from the start. If you can't make boost off the line, shove some n2o into it :)
Could we get some more details?
fuel system
ecu
diff
brakes
etc :)
BTW t88 is 67mm compressor inducer isn't it?
special_agent_bilge
31-08-2006, 04:00 PM
I wont be able to afford slicks to begin with, i have some wheels for front runners when the time comes tho.
fuel system is.
about 2L Surge tank
Holley blue lift pump
Bosch 044 main pump
850cc injectors.
Will be running a Haltech E6X comp.
Diff is 9in With Billet Axles, 3.9:1 Mini spooled Center. XA drums.
Got 290mm Discs with twin spot calipers for the front,
was going to get drop spindles for the front but noone currently makes them for this model
i'd have to check the inducer size cant recall from memory, its around 67mm somwhere

brendan, you also forgot to add your insane for putting soooo much grunt through a car that shares the same chassis rigidity as a mcdonalds straw....
nah seriously this thing will have nuts, big hairy ones at that.
luv ed!

ed...
you spelt McDonalds wrong

Scary ride once it finally hits boost!
300rwkw no worries!
How much of it will be useable is another question!
Draven
03-09-2006, 11:48 PM
and what will happen to the poor car with that monstrous torque
special_agent_bilge
04-09-2006, 12:02 AM
chassis will be getting some seam welding and most probably a cage aswell,
i guess ill find out how useable the power will be,
im sure it'll be some fun once together :)

tis a rubbish car the tc/td crotina, but a great engine! Hopefully the front suspension won't collapse on you before she's on the road! ;)

already strengthened the bottom wishbones haha
they aren't the best built car, but it'll be something different, and thats what i want
1JZ.747
11-09-2006, 10:38 AM
i like it:D :D
i hihgly doubt your going to see more than about 8 psi in the first 2 gears, that size turbo will be difficult to get loaded up, but hey its nothing that nitrous cannot fix. 3rd 4th and 5th will be interesting as there wont be much traction.
keep us posted.

once i get the drive line sorted, ill be going the slicks route, probably with a little nitrous, im not sure how strong the os giken gear sets are exactly so ill probably baby it for a while..well try to anyway, i dont think the unsprung triple plate is going to be too friendly on it.
anyone know how much abuse they can take??
if anti lag wasn't so hard on your exhaust valves i'd probably hook it up just for the drags
still got a long way to go before it will be on the road tho.

R154's don't like unsprung clutches.
But again, it all comes down to your driving style.
Im putting almost 500rwhp through a stock R154, so im sure the giken cross gears can handle a bit more than that.

i think the weight is about 1260kg's with a six in it, so im guessin with a cage and everything else, lighter seats and stuff tho, hopefully around 1300kg's, 9in diff's arent light
