The Toymods Car Club is a NSW RTA Approved club for Historic Vehicle Registration. You must be a financial member of the Toymods Car Club Inc to have your vehicle considered for Historic Registration.
What vehicles are eligible for Toymods Historic Plates?
To be eligible, vehicles must be 30 years of age or older and must be manufactured by Toyota. Vehicles must be as close to original condition as possible, with NO alterations except for safety features such as seat belts and turn indicators or period accessories and options, if desired.
Eligible vehicles must be garaged in NSW.
When can I drive my Historic Registered Vehicle?
Historic registered vehicles can be driven to any official Toymods Car Club meeting, cruise or event. Vehicles may attend any event by other registered car clubs or associations, to which an official written invitation has been received by the Toymods Car Club Inc.
Historic registered vehicles may also be taken for periodic maintenance and/or service runs. These include runs required for vehicle inspection and repair as well as general maintenance.
Historic Registered vehicles may also be used for weddings and formal occasions.
What vehicle movements must I get approval for?
All Vehicle movements must be approved prior to the vehicle journey by the Toymods Historic Plates Registrar. Approvals can be requested by email or via phone call/SMS. See contact details below.
What vehicle movements need to be recorded in my Log Book?
All vehicle movements need to be recorded in the vehicle Log Book and the Toymods Historic movement register. Log books can be obtained from most newsagents and office supplies.
How do I apply for or enquire about Historic Vehicle Registration?
To apply for Historic Vehicle registration with the Toymods Car Club, please forward an introductory email to board@toymods.org.au with Attn: River – Historic Rego in the Subject field.
Your email must contain the following:
- Vehicle Details including make, model and build date
- Photos of actual vehicle, consisting of exterior (both sides, front and rear), engine bay and interior.
If your Toyota appears to be suitable for historic vehicle registration you will be advised by the Historic Plates Registrar of you preliminary approval.
Your vehicle may be requested to be inspected in person by the Historic Vehicle Registrar to obtain preliminary approval.
If I get preliminary approval, what do I do next?
If your Toyota receives preliminary approval for Historic Vehicle registration the Toymods Car club is required to view a current/valid NSW pink slip for the vehicle. Your pink slip must have an RTA Application for Conditional Registration Form attached as this must be filled in by your pink slip provider.
The Toymods Car club will also require a completed Toymods Historic Vehicle Application Form for the Clubs records. The annual administration fee payable to the Toymods Car club is $10.
Once the above mentioned forms are received the Toymods Car club will issue you with a stamped and approved RTA Historic Vehicle Declaration Form (Form no. 1259).
What do I take to the RTA?
The RTA will require you to have:
- Proof of purchase or ownership of Vehicle
- Your current Drivers Licence as proof of ID
- A valid/current NSW pink slip
- Completed and approved RTA Application for Conditional Registration Form
- Approved RTA Historic Vehicle Declaration Form
- If your vehicle has current registration plates these will need to be handed in at the time.
From the RTA you will receive:
- a new registration label
- A set of Historic Registration plates (Charged out as a one off fee when received)
- Historic Vehicle registration papers
- Certificate of Approved Operations, which must be kept in the vehicle at all times.
